How to set the Memory Card password (MMC password) on Series 60 v3 devices

You can set a password for your memory card to protect it from unauthorized access. And we tell you how.

To set a password for your MMC you have to select Tools → Memory (Memory card) → Options → Set password.

PassMC1

Then you are asked to enter the new password and to verify it:

PassMC2

The password is stored in your device and you don’t need to enter it again while you use the memory card on the same device.

If you use the memory card on another device, you are asked for the password.

Not all memory cards support password protection.

To remove the memory card password, you have to select Tools → Memory (Memory card) → Options → Remove password.

PassMC3

When you remove the password, the data on the memory card is not protected against unauthorized use.
